Continued our discussion of corporate actions today, focusing on separating the concepts from codes so that we could create separate ontologies for the ISO 20022 codes from the GLEIF codes.  We created a new ontology called Actions today, that include a higher level notion of an action that has an impact on either information about an organization or the status of that organization.  We also discussed how to represent where that information came from - the provenance related to it, and how to slice and dice the actions to say whether they impact the shareholder, or the value of the shares, or simply information about an organization, such as its address.  We looked at https://pma-isitc-org.s3.amazonaws.com/Market%20Practice%20Documents/ISITC_Corporate_Actions_Market_Practice_FINAL_v6_November2016-Gale2.pdf which has a nice activity diagram regarding how these actions work.  There are other resources that describe these actions as well, such as https://www.samco.in/knowledge-center/articles/types-of-corporate-actions/.
