5) Todays content discussion.
JN Some questions on ISO. Jim Northy has a multi standard Semantic portal. ISO 21022 Roadmap on upper ontology. MB has been working with ISO.
Pete has entire GLEIF level 1 and Level 2 converted to FIBO. Still working on level 2. Has all loaded into Stardog. Started with SMP Automotive Systems in Mexico. Could tell ownership. Then brought in all of GLEIF and tell tell entire map of relationships. Inconsistency showing an ultimate owner, but not an owner. JN Why are 3 separated from the others? Pete Because GLEIF Level 2 does not show any relationship. DW Where is China? Pete Not in the Level 2. DA How can I use this? Pete will put into EDMC Stardog. Dean What should be published in Data.world. Pete the Raw data gets published every day. This is my own visualization. This is part of the question to EDMC about a data service. This is now RDF/XML in Stardog. L1 File is 145 Meb zipped. L2 is 49M unzipped. These are full sizes, not just Mexico. Dean wants these for EDW demo.
Dean GLIEF has hundreds of legal forms. Wells Fargo has identified just a few. Pete GLEIF has only 8 US states. None of the US companies actually use the forms. They put in the 8888 opt out code. This makes a flawed standard worse. Pete inserted icons associated with different classes. The tool is Linkcurious - a French company. Adaptive is deciding to build or buy. Can apply this also to FIBO itself. DN has also worked with Linkcurious.
Looks like Widoco graph. Can go from a property to its ontology. Can go from a noun to sub property relationships. DWiz Could this be another FIBO product. DN not for casual users. Takes work to use it. Not an end user application. It is for power users to create nice visualizations for end users. Adaptive may either make Linkcurious more usable to build something like it internally. DN to JN CFTC could also use Linkcurious or products like it for visualizations. JN How does this compare to Gruff? DN very similar. Also for power users. Very powerful for investigators.
Review DN CFTC deck with JN. JN Data Hub is a catch phrase being used at CFTC. DN Can make that change. Neither lake nor hub are really good words. JN Slide 20 starts going into Wells Fargo - should say that this is Wells Fargo work or real world operational or something that says this is for real work. DN will add this. JN Slide 23 has just 2 swaps, but there are very many swaps. This slide will cause others to question why doesn't FIBO have more? DN Yes FIBO is in development and does not have all swaps. We are asking for others to contribute to FIBO content. DN We can show the power of FIBO. JN But that was not communicated in the slide. JN a basis swap could be an interest rate swap. We have a slide that shows this. Max A swap is an exchange now or later. All swaps are really interest rate based. A basis swap could be any kind of swap. FIBO has all of the fundamentals. A swap is just 2 commitments.
JN It is important that in the CFTC world there are 5 types of swaps. A basis swap is just a name that could fit into 2 or more of the 5. DN In an ontology two concepts that appear at the same level are not necessarily equivalent. We need to train people how to read and understand ontologies. Perhaps for this instance, we use a different example of a taxonomy that will not raise questions. could be bonds for example. JN Just use interest rate swap and thats it. DN Will do.
Max Could use another diagram that just has basis swap. Could put in commodity swap. DN Yes, we will put that in and it will show the multifaceted nature of ontologies. More content will show this. Need all of the other swap types. FX, Commodity and the others. JN IRS, CDF, FX, Commodity swaps are the ones that CFTC has.
6) For next week.
