Business' relevance

This competency question links a product with substances that possess a common active moiety. The product here refers to the pharmaceutical product, which is defined as a qualitative and quantitative composition of a medicinal product in the dose form approved for administration in line with the regulated product information. The medicinal product is defined as any substance or combination of substances that may be administered to human beings (or animals) for treating or preventing disease, or with the intent to make a medical diagnosis or to restore, correct or modify physiological functions. The pharmaceutical product is used for this competency question as it describes the final composition of substances that will be administered to the patient. The terms substance and active moiety have already been described in CQs 1 and 2.
