Today we reviewed Dan's model of time series to see if we have all of pieces for managing prices as they change over time, for example. Elisa thinks we need a class called Measurement, which would be a subclass of DatedCollectionConstituent and QuantityValue, to connect the dots with respect to Dan's time series model. Pete was not convinced that we needed this, so we agreed to consider examples, and spent much of the discussion looking at the DJIA as an example (which may conflate scoped and qualified measure). DJIA may be simpler than what we can represent using the model that we have, so it may not be a good comparison. We agreed that there are too many possible series to represent all of the dynamic data points through a collection that is continuously maintained. You still need to identify the series, however, and track the historical values over time in some way. We agreed that Pete will create some examples to test the current model and see if this is truly a gap or not, and will continue the work next week.
