Proceedings:
This week we discussed what we should tackle this quarter with respect to securities. Citi shared that for Q2 their projects include regulatory reporting with respect to securities and loans. We discussed sharing the work that Pete et al have been doing at OMG on the SBRM model and ontology for standardized business reporting, as one piece of a solution. We also discussed mapping FIBO to the FIGI standard to support their efforts, and the need to map the CFI standard, ISO 10962, which has informed our work but which we have not yet mapped to FIBO. There is a recent update to the CFI standard as described in the press release available at https://www.iso.org/news/ref2438.html. We should also work in parallel on the mapping to ACTUS.
With respect to loans, Citi is most interested in commercial loans - commercial real estate lending, corporate loans, and leases. We could work with them to put a use case together as the starting point for a new working group. Commercial lending is likely to be a high priority for most banks given the current situation and business lending legislation.
In summary, priorities for Q2 include: (1) continued work on our current use case, (2) mapping equities and debt instruments to the CFI standard, (3) mapping the same instruments to ACTUS, (4) providing a FIBO to FIGI mapping, and (5) continued bug fixes. With respect to the use case and instrument market data, representing the price of a security is likely a good next step now that the pricing ontology is available in release.
