Proceedings:
Today we reviewed some of the recent issues addressed in JIRA and GitHub, primarily related to business entities, that need urgent resolution. With respect to BE-211, we've addressed one side of the problem, namely that a legal entity can be owned or controlled by others, but haven't addressed who can own or control them. That side of the problem should also be addressed in BE-211, making it LegalPerson / controlling or owning party, rather than only a legal entity/company.
Secondly, we reviewed the need for the 'complete lattice' for certain kinds of relationships, such as ownership, control, beneficial ownership, affiliation, and the like. We have tentatively settled on 'stative relationship' as the name of the top level class, and will work on filling in the lattice over the coming week. In a second step, we'll investigate migrating some of the ownership and control related classes and properties to fit with the new / revisited approach for representation. See https://register.openownership.org/data_sources/uk-psc-register for some examples related to ownership, including people with significant control.
We also reviewed the definition of beneficial owner, which should not be a subclass of owner - it should be a subclass of controlling party.
