Reviewed the diagram that Chris created ages ago with respect to market indices and what comprises an index, their relationships, etc. One area we don't cover is the notion of a composite index, and of benchmarks comprised of multiple indices. See, for example, https://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/cili.asp.
We determined that there is some overloading going on in the ontology that munges the notion of a fixed basket with the notion of a basket of consumer goods and services. To address this we raised issue IND-101, which says "Need to distinguish the notion of a consumer basket from one that consists of instruments and/or indices".
