Proceedings:
This week we continued review of the reporting use case with an eye towards completing the summary and investigating usage scenarios further. One gap we found in doing so is the need for a definition of 'market participant', which is a catch-all term used by the CFTC and others in the domain to refer to market participants in the derivatives space that may not fall under other categories, including but not limited to individuals that trade on their own behalf. See DER-64, which captures the gap.
Towards the end of the call, we discussed the various kinds of swaps that the CFTC processes, and reviewed the sample data from the EBRDF effort to use as the basis of the first usage scenario in the use case. We attached the Mizuho sample data and mapping to ACTUS that Jeff Braswell created last summer as the basis for building out individuals to support the use case. Next steps include a review of the use case by John Nowlin, who will also try to create a few competency questions, and Elisa Kendall will work on a couple of individuals based on the Mizuho data that we can use to (1) identify any remaining gaps in the ontology, and (2) as sample data for Pete to use to generate individuals for the remaining data.
