20170626 FIBO FBC and SEC FCT

 

Overview of updates of late in response to the "puning" bug Pete found. SEC: lifecycle stuff was resolved prior to Brussels.

 

Added a number of items in Indices and Indicators: economic indicators; looking for list of things that need to be present for August. Overall, should be in good shape.

 

ACTION:  Item: RB: review against BBG standards.

 

Review of international with Canadian and US stats in hierarchy

 

Review of expansion of coverage of various entities that function in the FBC space, e.g., various Federal Reserve banks. US, EU, Canada are largely in; UK on target for August.

 

Huge expansion and extensive modeling in place to support (thanks to Elisa).

 

Discussion of mapping of Foundations to Basic Formal Ontology (BFO). Business Entities did not work as it is internally inconsistent.  Note: mapping into BFO is not trivial. 1) BFO needs to be tweaked a bit to support Foundations and 2) many concepts in FIBO simply have no home in BFO.

 

ACTION Item: RB: check with PR on Clearstre and Euroclear: are they clearing houses as well as depositories?

 

Few classes added to address uniquely EU entities are oddly similar to other classes in the rest of the world--right now they stand alone, but it looks like they need more work. All these are under the CrediInstitutionOrInvestmentFirm which is EU specific.

 

Economic Indicators are present in slides.

 

Next meetings: spreadsheet next week. Remainder of July is currently on track for each Monday. Only questionable date is July 24...stay tuned.
