Proceedings:
Today's discussion focused on the need to separate the more general statistics measures and measurement content from the specifics of indices, and move that up into FND into the Analytics ontology to make those concepts more general. Then once moved, we can augment what's there with the concept of a qualified measure that is a weighted measure, creating individuals for the various kinds of weighting algorithms that we know about. Those that are more generic, such as price-weighted, value-weighted, unweighted, etc. belong at the general level, and those that are specific to certain indices, such as market cap weighted, would stay in the market indices ontology in IND.
The issue came up due to some refactoring of Ext ontologies in FND to eliminate some additional informative content, which needed the statistical measures from IND, but should not have to depend on IND for those. Since the dependencies were in provisional ontologies, we agreed to make the changes to reflect what's in IND for now, then move the content from IND to analytics, and fix the ontologies that depend on IND but should depend on analytics during that process.
Also discussed eliminating any deprecations that pre-dated FIBO 2.0 in the FTF, but not any that are added after 2.0 was submitted. This should be an FLT issue, possibly one that could be discussed in next week's F2F meeting or in the FLT meeting following that. Pete will do a query to see if any of those deprecated elements are still referenced, so that we can clean any dangling references up.
